The Catholic Church teaches us that CCC 674 “The glorious Messiah’s coming is suspended at every moment of history until his recognition by all Israel.” St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans foretold that one day great numbers of Jews would embrace their Messiah. 11:15 “If [the Jews’] rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?” 11:26 “All Israel will be saved” because 11:29 “The gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.” The restoration of the nation Israel could not have been the whole fulfillment because the Jews received it without the ancient Temple site. Jesus had told them, Jn 2:19 “Destroy this Temple and in three days I will raise it up.” We abide in Him, and He in us.
God called me into the Catholic faith. My first assignment was to write a single book of moderate length that can be readily handed to an inquiring Jew to completely prepare him for entry into the Church. Second Exodus is that book.
I was astonished when a holy priest respected by faithful Catholics worldwide suggested to me that Second Exodus might be God’s instrument for His “recognition by all Israel.”
It is remarkable that Second Exodus came into being at the same time, broadly speaking, as the Association of Hebrew Catholics, Rosalind Moss’ radio and speaking apostolate, and Remnant of Israel. Our four apostolates, developed separately, fit perfectly together as if Someone planned it that way. The Association of Hebrew Catholics is working to create an environment in the Church in which Jews will feel welcome, Rosalind Moss presents the invitation in a wonderful feminine Jewish voice, Second Exodus is the main entry path into the Church, and Remnant of Israel publishes books that will be of interest to Jews after they embrace the Catholic faith.
I cannot think that God would use a man so weak to participate in such a mighty work. But what I think is irrelevant. Whether God will call the Jews into the Church during my lifetime, and whether Second Exodus will be His instrument, He alone knows. I know only that Christ commands me, Mt 25:13 “Watch, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”
Josh 24:15 “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” I will serve Him through Second Exodus and in whatever else He may ask. Whatever use He may make of this book and this apostolate will be for me an occasion of great joy.
