So many colleges and universities today deliberately cripple their students. They teach that there is no such thing as moral truth, that all ideas are of equal importance. That can be exposed simply by responding, “Professor, that’s only your opinion. By your own standard, my sense that absolute truth exists should have equal standing with your sense that it does not.” But the student who does risks a failing grade.

Moral relativism as practiced in the universities is a bait-and-switch game that would be prosecuted if a corporation ever tried it in an advertisement. When someone pops up and says, “Homosexuality is a perversion,” they find that moral relativism does not apply in that case.

We need devout and faithful Catholics in the college and university faculties. The few seriously Catholic professors there today are doing heroic work. The Fellowship of Catholic Scholars is their honored gathering place.
