Publishers

Catholics seeking good books and tapes are invited to visit Ignatius Press, Father Joseph Fessio’s great Catholic publishing house that publishes wonderful books on acid-free paper. That means the pages will look like new, not yellow and brittle, decades from now. St. Joseph Communications offers an excellent collection of books and tapes, especially Dr. Scott Hahn’s lively and erudite Bible commentaries. Magnificat Institute Press was astute enough to publish Second Exodus.

Catholics who love Father John A. Hardon, S.J. are invited to visit Eternal Life, which offers his catechetical materials at very reasonable prices. Ignatius Press also offers a variety of catechetical resources.

How We Communicate is a secular book. I recommend it specifically for those interested in conversion experiences. Since I sent the finished manuscript to the publisher only weeks before my pilgrim journey to the Catholic faith began, it is a perfect snapshot of my thinking at that time. How We Communicate and Second Exodus are the before and after pictures of my completion in Christ.

Book Shops

I particularly like Dave Armstrong’s Catholic Used Book Service. Dave is a well known Catholic apologist. He knows his Faith, and is providing a much needed resource by stocking used Catholic books which are available at much less cost than new.

Other Book Recommendations

Donal Anthony Foley, a British Catholic, has written a much needed book, Marian Apparitions, the Bible, and the Modern World. He also has other book recommendations that are faithful to the Magisterium at his site, Theotokos Catholic Books.
