Sweet Monasteries

Strict religious orders, such as the Trappists, which impose silence on their monks, cannot raise money in the usual ways. However, preparation of chocolate and other sweets fits the strict lifestyle well.

The Abbey of Gethsemani, the Brigittine Monks, and Mt. St. Mary’s Abbey offer tasty ways to help these orders sustain their monasteries. For these sites I am recommending the foods only. The Catholic teachings from these monasteries vary in quality.
