Towards the Second Exodus

The account of my transition from Judaism to the Catholic faith, which particularly emphasizes how God’s direct influence on the path of my life and that God is willing to directly influence the life of anyone truly open to Him. A relatively brief version was published in Envoy magazine’s Mar-Apr ’97 issue and won them a first prize from the Catholic Press Association. A more extensive version also appears in Pat Madrid’s smash hit book Surprised by Truth 2. This version of my completion story is by far the most detailed and extensive.

Why We Are Catholic

St. Peter told us, 1 Pet 3:15 “Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence.” This talk, based on Second Exodus chapter 2, boldly covers how we know that:

• God is living spirit
• Jesus of Nazareth was His Messiah
• The Catholic Church teaches by Jesus’ direct authority

It also zestfully defends the Catholic faith against the most frequent claims of Protestants.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

There is a straight line between Moses, who said, Ex 24:8 “Behold the blood of the covenant which the Lord has made with you,” to Jesus, who said, Mt 26:28 “This is My Blood of the Covenant.” This talk, based on Second Exodus chapter 7, shows how the Mass we celebrate today has ancient origins in Judaism.

The Spiritual War

Our Father told us, Dt 30:19 “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.” This talk, based on Second Exodus chapters 9 and 10, highlights the origins of the war in heaven, Satan’s war strategies, and Christ’s war strategies.
