First Century Christian Ministries (FCCM) is a lay apostolate -- founded by Catholic convict-converts in a Bible Belt Alabama State Prison -- dedicated to evangelizing prisoners in cooperation with prison chaplains. Today, FCCM’s newsletter reaches 1,100 subscribers, 75 percent of whom are prisoners, and Catholic materials and devotionals flow from FCCM supporters to 70 prison chaplains across the nation. Other FCCM initiatives include pen-pals for serious Catholic inmates, and a “Bibles for Inmates” program.
